Our journey begins with a visit to the traditional village Melidoni with its Venetian and
Turkish architecture .Melidoni Cave-one of the most popular caves in Crete, has a rich
history and archeology, and has played an important role in different periods of time.
Next stop : the village of pottery in Margarites, where you can see the traditional
production of ceramics and buy them . In addition, we will have the opportunity to taste
olive oil, homemade wine, mountain honey … Here we will visit a truly paradise : the
Monastery of Christ the Saviour and St. Gedeon, who is in charge of the Orthodox monastery
on Mount Athos..
We will end our tour with a visit to the Monastery of Arkadi. This is one of the most honored
monasteries, it has played a huge role in the history of this island – a symbol of the struggle
of Greece for independence and freedom.
