This unique tour will allow you, not only to admire the breathtaking views of this gorge, but
also to experience a nice long walk. Samaria is not only the longest and most beautiful gorge
in Europe, but also a legend (. Length 16 km) . This place is associated with many ancient
myths, his ancient sanctuary and a large ancient city Tarra. Surrounded by high mountain
ranges, you climb to the plateau of Omalos from where begins the transition to a unique
gorge. Before entering the gorge, you can have breakfast in a small tavern. The
extraordinary beauty of the gorge will charm you during the descent. During this walk you
will encounter mountain waterfalls and rivers, forests, abandoned villages, small churches,
rare animals such as the wild goat “Kri-Kri”. Since 1962 Samaria Gorge is a national park. The
path through the gorge takes 5-6 hours, with stops specially equipped for rest. Leaving the
gorge, you enter a small village, Agia Roumeli, where you can dine in one of the taverns and
swim in the Libyan sea. Then a boat trip on a small boat will take you to the port of Chora
Sfakion, where you will wait for the bus. Note: the route is not recommended for pregnant
women and children younger than 6 years.

Additional expenses: entrance to the gorge 5€, kids up to 15 years free (KEEP TICKETS TILL
