Spent an unforgettable time in the countryside of Crete and experience the real rural
lifestyle. Our journey begins in the village of Margarites, famous for its history of pottery.
There we see how the local craftsmen create their masterpieces from clay. In addition, we
will have the opportunity to taste olive oil, homemade wine, mountain honey … Here we will
visit a paradise on earth, the Monastery of Christ the Savior and St. Gedeon.
Next, we will visit a traditional bakery. It makes crackers and sweets in a unique, ancestral
way, received from the Byzantine recipes. You will visit the Cretan farm, which is located
high in the Creta shepherds area. They will show you a sheep haircut and milking sheep. In a
hut you will cook the cheese and try it immediately. We will see how the Cretan
tsikoudia(raki) is made and try it. You will have a picnic in the nature of a pure spring, where
you can taste lamb meat “antikristo” special recipe.
We will end our tour with a visit to Sfedoni caves (stalactites and stalagmites) in the cave
village Zoniana. Several million years old and 270m long.
